Twenty seven years ago,
I walked the tide line of Bird Island. In the distance - right on the low tide line - I saw the silhouette of a rural mailbox.
However, I never could reach it - for it was a mirage. The very next weekend, I "planted" the original Kindred Spirit
mailbox - and I met YOU.
Now I know what God always knew. It is that YOU would cry out - to save Bird Island from
development. And your cries were heard. God bless and keep you and yours - all the days of your lives. With love, from "The

If you've found this site, you've probably heard
of the Kindred Spirit mailbox on Bird Island, NC. The intent of this webpage
is not to explain the mysteries of the Kindred Spirit mailbox, which thousands have visited over the years. On
the contrary, the intent is to ask you to help the mystery continue. After all, isn't mystery one of the Life's greatest
joys? If you're headed to the KS Mailbox for the first
time - YEAH! Just so you'll know, it's approximately one and a quarter mile walk from the last public beach
access on Sunset Beach. The Mailbox is now located back IN the dunes. Here's the clue -
JUST when you're sure you've missed it - it'll be there (sounds like Life, doesn't it?).
Just keep your eyes peeled and your spirit open. If you are a regular visitor of the KS mailbox - THANK YOU. Thanks also to those who feel the nudge to tend
the mailbox area and forward full journals to Kindred Spirit, PO Box 196, Lake Waccamaw, NC, 28450. These journals
are being held with love, honor and respect by Kindred Spirit. Trust that KS does indeed read all of the written offerings you leave in
the mailbox. And she (Didn't you intuitively know that KS is female?<smile>) celebrates You as she
holds your messages in her heart.
